How We Met It's pretty simple, really. Surely you have heard of the online dating services... well, they work! Stef and Ben were both signed up on match.com back in 2002. One day, Ben got an email from Stef and they began talking. After a few weeks of going back and forth, WittyINgrl and Ben1462 decided to meet for dinner at TGI Friday's on the west side of Indianapolis. They quickly became friends and began spending more and more time together. Finally, after a month or so of "hanging out", Ben snuck in a kiss and made it clear he didnt want to settle for friendship. Stef concurred. |
Our Story, So Far...
Once they were "oficially" a couple, Ben and Stef saw each other whenever Stef's wacko work schedule would allow. She worked 12 hour night shifts every other week, so for 7 out of 14 days, it was hard work for them to get together. But love conquers all, right? Right. And it did. When Ben's lease was up, Stef invited him to move in. How could he resist? the only complication was cramming 4 cats and 2 people into a tiny apartment. But a solution was just around the corner! In May 2003, Ben and Stef moved into their first house together. It was on the south side of Indianapolis, just across the street from Koji and Yuri Okamoto (the Happy Famiry). And what a great house it was - plenty of room for all of their things, lots of space for the cats (and people), and even a yard! Soon, Stef moved off of her night shift and into a regular days shift at the same place and Ben and Stef were as happy as 2 peas in a pod. But a shocking change was about to take place! In August 2003, Ben got a job offer from his brother Tony. The job woudl require Ben and Stef to move out of their nice new house south to New Albany. After much discussion and contemplation, they decided to do it. About 7 months later (and 3 months of temporary housing at Ben's mom and dad's house) they moved into their second house in Memphis, Indiana (just outside of Sellersburg), where they live now. With even more room and a bigger yard, they are even happier with their newest house. Stef came home from work one day and Ben met her at the door. "Will you marry me?" "Are you kidding?" "Will you marry me?" "Yes" |

About Stef The details of my life are quite inconsequential....My childhood was typical: summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring, we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent, I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds. Pretty standard, really. But seriously, I was born in Richmond, Indiana on October 1st, 1978. I have one younger sister, Stacie, who will be on her way to Ball State University this fall. Techno music and dancing are two of my favorite things, so be prepared for at least a song or two by Prodigy or Paul Oakenfold at the reception. The best question I've been asked since I got engaged was courtesy of Curt Stutz and when something like this, "When you marry Bean is your name going to be Stef McSchy?" I found that particually funny. So much so that I seriously considered it, for about a minute. I also have two cats whom I adore more than life itself, Jake and Missy. I'm a pharmacy technician now and look forward to being able to add wife to my list of life accomplishments. |
